  • 28 ounce canned tomatoes, drained
  • 1 large green pepper, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • to taste sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • to cover Pepperidge Farm breadcrumbs

Method

Follow the steps in order for the best result.

  1. Begin by greasing a 2-quart casserole dish with melted butter.
  2. Arrange half of the sliced vegetables in an even layer within the casserole dish.
  3. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the vegetables, followed by a generous layer of Pepperidge Farm breadcrumbs.
  4. Repeat the layering process with the remaining vegetables, cheese, and breadcrumbs.
  5. Cover the casserole dish with a lid or aluminum foil (if using foil, spray it with cooking spray to prevent sticking).
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour.
  7. Remove the cover and continue baking for an additional 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the vegetables are tender.
