Follow the steps in order for the best result.
Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
Thoroughly drain both cans of yams or sweet potatoes.
Select a shallow baking dish. In it, mash the contents of one can of yams. Leave the yams from the second can in pieces. Note: You can leave both cans in pieces if you prefer a chunkier texture.
Evenly pour the orange juice over the yams in the baking dish.
Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the yams.
Dot the top of the yams with margarine.
Cover the yams completely with miniature marshmallows.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the marshmallows are melted and lightly golden.
Keep a close watch during the last 5 minutes of baking, as the marshmallows can burn quickly.
