Follow the steps in order for the best result.
Begin by thoroughly washing the apples. Then, quarter them, carefully removing the core, seeds, and peel from each section.
Pour 1/3 cup of water into a saucepan. Place the prepared apple quarters into the water.
Cover the saucepan and cook over low heat for approximately 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. If the water evaporates too quickly, add a little more to maintain moisture.
Incorporate 1/4 cup of sugar into the applesauce, stirring until it is well distributed.
Serve the applesauce warm for immediate enjoyment, or chill it in the refrigerator to enjoy later.
