Ingredients

Localized ingredient list prepared for quick scanning.

  • 1/4 cup walnuts
  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 6 fresh figs, quartered (or dried figs)
  • 6 dates, pitted and chopped
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 cups Greek yogurt
  • 4 mint leaves, for garnish

Method

Follow the steps in order for the best result.

  1. Begin by toasting the walnuts, almonds, and pine nuts in a saute pan over medium heat. Toast them until they release their fragrant aroma, being careful not to burn them.
  2. Transfer the toasted nuts to a plate to cool slightly. Once they are cool enough to handle, roughly chop them.
  3. In a small saucepan set over medium heat, combine the quartered figs, chopped dates, honey, water, lemon juice, and a cinnamon stick.
  4. Allow the mixture to cook for approximately 10 minutes, or until the figs and dates have softened.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the fruit mixture to cool slightly. Don't forget to remove the cinnamon stick.
  6. Place the Greek yogurt in a large bowl.
  7. Spoon the warm fig and date mixture over the yogurt, gently swirling it through to create a marbled effect.
  8. Sprinkle the chopped toasted nuts over the yogurt.
  9. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve immediately. Enjoy this delightful and nutritious treat!
