Using a fork, gently mash the avocado to your desired consistency. For a chunkier guacamole, mash lightly; for a smoother texture, mash more thoroughly.
Incorporate the red onion, red chile, cilantro, and lime juice into the mashed avocado. Season with sea salt and fresh ground pepper to taste. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined. For an ultra-smooth guacamole, use a food processor to blend the ingredients.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface of the guacamole to prevent browning. Set aside while you prepare the bacon.
Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a small amount of vegetable oil to the skillet, ensuring the surface is lightly coated.
