Follow the steps in order for the best result.
Begin by making breadcrumbs. In a food processor, pulse the torn white bread until fine crumbs are formed.
Add the ground beef, egg, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 2 teaspoons of onion powder, ground pepper, and tomato paste to the food processor. Pulse until all ingredients are uniformly mixed. You may need to pause and scrape down the sides of the bowl a few times to ensure everything is well combined.
Using wet hands to prevent sticking, form the meat mixture into balls approximately the size of a golf ball.
Place the meatballs on a greased cookie sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 450°F (232°C) until browned, about 15 minutes. For even browning, turn the meatballs once during cooking.
Once the meatballs are fully cooked, carefully transfer them to a medium-sized pot containing the tomato sauce.
Simmer the meatballs in the tomato sauce for at least 20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Serve the meatballs and sauce over your choice of noodles. Whole wheat angel hair pasta is a great option.
