Follow the steps in order for the best result.
Thoroughly rinse the quinoa using a fine-mesh strainer to remove any bitterness.
In a saucepan, combine the water, brown rice milk, and salt. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
Once boiling, stir in the rinsed and drained quinoa. Return the mixture to a boil, then immediately reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot tightly with a lid.
Allow the quinoa to simmer gently for approximately 12–14 minutes, or until the quinoa is cooked through but still retains a slight firmness.
Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the ground flax seeds, cinnamon, and maple syrup until well combined.
Cover the pot again and let the porridge stand for an additional 5 minutes. This allows the flavors to meld and the porridge to reach the perfect consistency. If the porridge appears too thick, add a splash more rice milk to achieve your desired consistency.
Serve the quinoa porridge warm, topped with a generous sprinkle of hemp hearts and your favorite fresh fruit.
